Peach & Apricot Season Has Arrived at BLeaves Farms

There’s something magical about stepping into an orchard heavy with fruit and catching the scent of sun-warmed peaches in the breeze. At BLeaves Farms, that moment is now. Our trees are alive with color, buzzing with bees and hummingbirds, and bursting with flavor. It’s officially peach and apricot season, and while this year’s fruit is a little smaller in size than usual, the taste? Unmatched.

We’ve nurtured a variety of peach and apricot trees here in the desert sunshine of Arizona, and each one brings something special to the table (literally).

Meet the BLeaves Peach Collection

We grow several peach varieties here at the farm, each ripening on its own time, which means weeks of juicy goodness instead of just a few days. Here’s a peek at our lineup:

Earligrande

One of the earliest peaches to ripen in the valley. These are yellow-fleshed, semi-clingstone peaches with a mildly sweet, refreshing flavor. Perfect for breakfast, baking, or biting into barefoot on the porch.

Reed’s Big Red

A real standout, these peaches are good sized and richly red with a bold, tangy-sweet flavor. Great for cobblers or slicing into wedges with just a sprinkle of sea salt.

Texas King

A favorite for flavor, these are freestone peaches with firm, golden flesh that practically melts in your mouth. They’re bold, aromatic, and excellent for canning or fresh eating.

Eva’s Pride

An early-season variety with a sweet, tropical flavor and low acid. The fruit is medium in size and incredibly juicy. A real treat for those who love that classic peachy punch.

Mid Pride

Living up to its name, this one comes in mid-season and is a consistent and productive tree. It’s a freestone variety with balanced sweetness and a beautiful blush.

Desert Gold

A reliable early producer with clingstone fruit, the flesh is sweet and juicy with a mild tang. Great for snacking or making peach preserves that capture the essence of early summer.

Tropic Snow Peaches

Among our beautiful peach varieties, Tropic Snow deserves a spotlight. These peaches are a white-fleshed freestone variety, known for their low acid content and incredibly sweet, floral flavor. They’re perfect for those who enjoy a milder, melt-in-your-mouth peach that still packs plenty of juice. Tropic Snow peaches are a real treat fresh off the tree, and because of their delicate nature and fragrant aroma, they also make a stunning addition to summer fruit salads, smoothies, and even grilled dishes. They ripen early in the season and are especially popular among those looking for something just a little different from the typical golden peach. Our tree is still young, so we do not have any available this season.

Basically, to summarize, all our peach varieties are amazing.

Apricots: The Hidden Gems

We also have Gold Kist and Lorna apricots tucked among our stone fruit trees, and although the harvest this year is small, the flavor is incredible. These are not your grocery store apricots.

Gold Kist

Medium-sized, golden-orange fruit with just the right balance of sweet and tart. Great for drying, baking, or tossing in a salad.

Lorna

These beauties ripen a little earlier, with a milder, honey-sweet flavor. The skin is thin, the flesh is rich, and they’re amazing eaten fresh or turned into jam.

Nutrition from the Orchard

Peaches and apricots aren’t just delicious, they’re nutritional powerhouses:

  • Rich in Vitamins A & C (hello glowing skin!)
  • High in fiber, good for digestion
  • Packed with antioxidants to support your immune system
  • Naturally low in calories. So eat two, we won’t judge!

Apricots in particular also contain potassium and iron, making them a great choice for boosting energy levels and heart health.

We offer u-pick experiences here at BLeaves Farms. This is the perfect family outing, couple’s activity, or solo escape. There’s nothing quite like picking a peach straight from the tree and tasting it warm from the sun.

Prefer to skip the manual labor? No problem. We’ll hand-select perfectly ripe, dripping-with-juice fruit for you, packed and ready to go.

Note: Our supplies are limited this year due to smaller fruit and crop size, so reach out early!

Favorite Ways to Enjoy Peaches & Apricots

🍑 Peach Cobbler: Classic, cozy, and best served with vanilla ice cream.
🍑 Grilled Peaches: Slice in half, grill lightly, and top with mascarpone and honey.
🍑 Peach Salsa: Dice peaches with jalapeño, red onion, lime, and cilantro. Great on tacos!
🍑 Homemade Apricot Jam: Great for toast or gifting.

But honestly? Our favorite treat of all:

Fresh peach slices straight from our farm in raw goat’s milk. It’s creamy, sweet, and tastes like summer in a bowl. A true farm delicacy.
