The Joy of a Repeat Customer: A Lavender Lemonade Love Story

Starting a farm is a dream. A wild, dusty, calloused-hands, sun-kissed kind of dream. But it’s also scary. You’re putting your heart out there. Your time, your resources, your soul. And there’s no guarantee anyone will see it, let alone believe in it.

At BLeaves Farms, we’ve poured ourselves into every inch of this little two-acre haven. From the soil to the soul of this place, it’s a labor of love. But farming isn’t just gardening on steroids, it’s a crash course in…everything. Suddenly, you’re not only tending plants and rescuing animals, you’re doing bookkeeping, social media, recipe development, customer service, and food-safe prep. You’re learning to harvest, bottle, design, promote, and serve all at once. It’s exhilarating. And overwhelming. But moments like this one make it all so, so worth it.

It Started With a Thought (And a Lemon Tree)

One morning, I stood outside, sun rising over the citrus grove, and thought, “Wouldn’t sweet Meyer lemon from our trees and soothing lavender from our herb garden make the most refreshing lavender infused lemonade?” Not too sweet, kissed with floral notes, and chilled to perfection for an Arizona day.

So I brewed lavender tea. I squeezed lemons. I blended. I tasted. And I smiled. It was heaven in a jar.

But still, the fear crept in. “Would anyone want it besides me? Would they even stop by?

I didn’t let the doubt win. I wrote it out in chalk:

Lavender Infused Lemonade. Farm Fresh & Ice Cold

We set it out front. And waited.

And Then, They Stopped

I’ll never forget the first time someone stopped. A kind stranger rolled up, pointed to the sign, and asked Jeff for a pint. I was shocked. And thrilled. Then I thought Jeff was pranking me and it must be a joke. But he wasn’t. It was happening.

Then something even better happened.

The next week…he came back. But we were out. He asked, “If I come back next week, could you make more?” We said, “Absolutely.”

A Quart of Joy

We didn’t just make more, we made it better. We chilled it longer, perfected the ratio, and made sure it was just how he liked it.

And when he came back again, he didn’t ask for a pint. He asked for a quart.

He told us, “I want to be your weekly customer.” Cue happy tears.

You may think that’s a small moment. But to us, it’s huge. Because behind that one quart of lemonade is hours of work, days of dreaming, and years of sweat equity.

It’s so much more than a drink. It’s hope.

This Is What Our Dream Looks Like

To know that someone out there sees us, tastes what we’re building, and comes back because it brings them joy…that’s everything.

That one repeat customer reminded us why we started this farm.

We’re not just growing food, we’re creating connection. We’re not just making lemonade, we’re bottling a little bit of the magic that happens when a dream meets dirt and heart and hustle.
