Introducing Our Seasonal Chamomile Lavender Vitex Tea, Available Now at BLeaves Farms
There’s something sacred about sipping tea grown with your own two hands. This spring, we’re thrilled to share a limited, lovingly handmade batch of our Chamomile Lavender Vitex Loose Leaf Tea, crafted entirely from herbs we’ve grown, harvested, and dried right here at BLeaves Farms.
Each cup is more than just tea, it’s a quiet moment in nature, a calming breath, and a bit of healing from the land.

Grown, Picked & Dried by Hand
Our chamomile is the star of mid-spring. A delicate white blossom with a golden button center, each flower is handpicked at peak bloom when the scent is sweetest. Chamomile is gentle and apple-like in aroma, and while small, each blossom attracts a flurry of buzzing bees and pollinators that seem to adore it as much as we do.
Lavender joins chamomile around the same time, bursting into purple bloom with long spikes that smell sweet, floral, and unmistakably calming. It attracts butterflies, bees, and admiration from all who pass through the garden. We harvest it just as the buds open, preserving the essential oils and magic of the flower.
Then there’s the vitex tree, one of our most beloved plants on the property. Also known as the chaste tree, vitex is a deciduous tree that thrives in the desert. It’s drought tolerant, ornamental, and remarkably useful. In bloom, it bursts into violet-colored flower spikes that resemble a petite jacaranda. Their scent is subtly peppery with a hint of sage and spice. These blooms eventually give way to clusters of small medicinal berries.
Our vitex tree was a wedding gift from my mom, and to this day, it stands as one of our most beautiful and meaningful trees. It’s not just ornamental, it’s deeply purposeful. Vitex has been used traditionally to help support hormonal balance, especially in women, and it’s been a long-valued botanical in herbalism.
How These Herbs Work Together
Chamomile offers soothing and anti-inflammatory properties, perfect for calming digestion, easing tension, and promoting rest. Lavender contributes additional relaxation benefits and is often used to reduce anxiety, soothe the nervous system, and support better sleep. Vitex brings its balancing effects to the blend, offering gentle support for the endocrine system, especially helpful for stress, hormonal imbalance, and monthly cycles.
The result? A floral, subtly spicy tea with natural sweetness that gently calms your mind, body, and spirit.

From Our Garden to Your Mug

All of our tea ingredients are seasonally grown, hand-harvested, and sun-dried right on the farm. No machines, no additives. Just herbs, sun, and care. Once dried, we blend the leaves and blossoms by hand, package them in resealable kraft pouches, and label each one ourselves with our own design.
Each bag contains about 8 heaping tablespoons of loose leaf tea, enough for 8 to 24 cups depending on how strong you prefer your brew. I personally enjoy one tablespoon of loose leaf tea per mug of water. And at just $5 per bag, it’s an affordable luxury and a true taste of BLeaves Farms.
How to Brew the Perfect Cup
To make your perfect cup, we recommend:
- Using about 1 tablespoon of tea per 8-12 oz cup
- Heating your water to about 190°F to 212°F using something like the Vianté Electric Tea Kettle (this one allows you to choose the ideal temperature for herbal teas and includes a steeper!). Other methods are heating water on the stovetop or in a microwave.
- Steeping for 5-10 minutes in your electric kettle with infuser, a loose leaf tea infuser or tea steeper. You can also order tea bags off of Amazon if you prefer.

- Sweetening with local honey to taste (a teaspoon or more brings out the chamomile’s apple notes beautifully)
This makes for the perfect evening wind-down ritual or anytime you need to return to yourself.
